About James – Guitarist & Guitar Tutor in Camberley
Welcome to Camberley Guitar Lessons
Hi, I’m James — a full-time guitar teacher based in Camberley, offering electric and acoustic guitar lessons for all ages and levels. I’ve been playing guitar since a young age, developing a love for styles like rock, blues, and jazz, and I enjoy helping others build the same passion and confidence in their playing.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to study with world-class players including Eric Roche (former Head of Guitar at ACM Guildford), Laurence Juber (Paul McCartney’s Wings), and Martin Simpson, a BBC Radio 2 Album of the Year winner.
I was named Takamine’s Young Acoustic Guitarist of the Year, and also reached the finals of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Musician of the Year. Performance highlights include solo and band sets at events across the UK and Europe, such as the Isle of Wight Festival, Sidmouth Folk Festival, and Kinsale Jazz Fringe Festival in Ireland.
