Private, one-to-one guitar lessons
My guitar lessons cater for everyone wanting to learn the guitar, from beginners to advanced students, including all abilities, all ages and all styles of guitar playing. The lessons are tailored to meet your requirements; whether you are looking to play your favourite songs on your guitar for enjoyment or are interested in taking examinations with one of the established guitar exam boards, I can help you achieve your guitar-playing goals.
The guitar lesson slots are available in 30-minute, 45-minute, or 1-hour timeslots. Shorter sessions are more suitable for beginners and children, with longer sessions more suited to adults and progressing guitarists wishing to spend time working on a particular area of study or song material. A paired-hour lesson is available to students under 16, allowing siblings or friends to share an hour’s slot, taking 30-minute individual sessions each to split the cost. Guitar lesson gift cards are also available for purchase.
As a professional guitar tutor, I aim to help students develop their guitar-playing technique and music theory knowledge to achieve their musical ambitions. Where possible, the lessons are structured to incorporate music by bands & artists that students enjoy, making the lessons relevant to the musical styles students want to play. During the lessons, we’ll use various musical resources, including tabs, song sheets, and exercises, which will be shared via email after the lesson.
I also offer GCSE & A-level performance coaching for students sitting school-based music exams who must prepare solo and ensemble pieces for their performance modules. External guitar examinations are also available to students who want to formalise their learning through one of the established guitar exam boards (Rockschool & Trinity Guildhall), which is particularly beneficial for students studying GCSE and A-Level Music. A Grade 6 Certificate and above counts towards UCAS points for Year 13 students applying to university. I hold a Grade 8 (Distinction) certificate and have taught many other students who have worked through their guitar grades and now hold the same.

Guitar lessons available in schools
I teach guitar lessons at Tomlinscote School in Camberley and Gordons School in West End, Woking. The lessons take place during the school day and are scheduled to last 30 minutes on a ‘rolling timetable’ basis (different times week-to-week) to help minimise students missing classroom lesson time. Lessons are also scheduled during break time and lunch wherever possible.
If your child attends either school and would like lessons during the school day, please contact me for a lesson application form. Alternatively, please let me know if you would like guitar lessons to be offered at your child’s school but aren’t currently available.
